Proven Approach

Picks & Shovels

We do not invest in infrastructure.  Instead, we invest in those companies providing the products, services, and technologies that enable the industry.  Or, as we like to say, we invest in the “picks and shovels” suppliers of the energy transition.  As new energy markets have matured, supply chains have become more expansive and complicated, creating risk but also opportunity.

Experts in Energy

We live and breathe energy.  And we know that energy is a complicated, engineering-centric industry with multi-layered global supply chains.  We partner with companies who have a differentiated way to win in their own corner of the market.  And we work with our portfolio companies to ensure the company keeps evolving to stay one-step ahead.

Tested Strategies

We apply best practice, proven approaches from the energy investment community:  we get in the weeds, building a deep understanding the tech, value proposition, and supply chain; we back “proven” solutions and avoid moonshot bets; and we use our capital and transaction experience to build scale through both accelerated growth and M&A.

Growth equity, buyouts, or recapitalizations

Whether you need capital for growth, want to take some chips off the table, or are wanting to recapitalize the business (or some combination), we can be creative on the structure. We will also consider corporate carve-outs and secondary transactions.
